Famines Feast
(Famine… cooks a meal… Bwahhaahaa)
To Begin:
- “Marrow Bones” / well they look like bones
- Beef, & Black sausage / we must use all of the poor beasts
- Marinated Mushrooms & Cheese balls / If the cows still have any milk left to give us
(V-OL, GF “Marrow Bones:” King Oyster mushrooms, EVOO, Thyme, Greek seasoning, chives, pecorino, mushrooms-shitake. GF “Beef:” Beef, S&P, Cherry sauce [cherries, red wine, powder duce]; “Black sausage Blood pudding:” Cow & pig blood, [full ingredients on site]. V, GF “Marinated Mushrooms:” Mushrooms, Olive oil, thyme, bay leaf, pepper, salt; V-OL, GF “Cheese balls:” Mozzarella, Olive oil, Lemon & Zest, oregano)
First remove:
- Venison? or Lamb with Frumentary / I shall see which the hunters can procure for the feast
- Salad with Eggs / If the hens are willing and able to lay any
(“Lamb with Frumentary:” Lamb, mint, malt vinegar, eggs, Milk, Cream cracked wheat. GF “Salad with Eggs:” baby greens, eggs , dressing [olive oil, vinegar, S&P, mustard, herbs de Provence, lemon juice]).
Second remove:
- Pork with Apricots and Pistachios /I’ll find a pig, even if it kills someone…. hehehe
- Onion & leek Tarts / as long as the flour has no weevils
- Sauce of Appel / perhaps the Blight has not gotten here before me, it will come no matter
(GF “Pork with Apricots & Pistachios:” Pork loin, S&P, apricots, apricot jam, pistachios. V-OL “Onion & leek Tarts:” Leek, onion, egg, cream, butter, S&P, Sage, flower. V, GF “Sauce of Apple :” Apples, sugar(monk fruit), Cinnamon, cardamon, ginger.)
Third remove:
- Fowl with Sauce / We hope to have some hens but we are not very choosy we will cook what the archers bring us.
- Potage of Cabbage, Onion, & leek /we have plenty of this though they will not last long
- Saffron Rice with Lobster / if they can be found in the Great Bay

To Finish:
- Bread Pudding, Poached Pears, Pistachio cream.
(V-OL “Bread Pudding:” Bread, butter, cream, eggs, sugar (monk fruit), Powder duce [Cinnamon, Cardamom, Mace, All Spice, Nutmeg, Ginger, & Clove, sugar]. V-OL, GF “Poached Pears:” Pears, red wine, honey, cardamom. V-OL, GF “Pistachio cream:” Pistachios, butter, cream, egg yolk, salt, sugar.)
